Media South Transition - Letter from Barbara Penland

A Letter from Ms. Barbara Penland:

Dear Media South Clients and Friends:

It has been a great pleasure guiding and growing Media South for the last fifteen years. When I began considering a new personal opportunity last year, my goal was to maintain Media South’s relationships, quality of work, and continuity of service for our clients, vendors, freelancers, and employees. I discovered that the best way to accomplish that goal was to entrust Media South to a firm that respected our values and accomplishments. As a result, Designsensory has purchased Media South effective February 23, 2009.

Though my time is coming to an end with Media South, this transition represents the beginning of a new chapter for you. There is no doubt in my mind I have selected the right partner to assume the Media South mantle. Designsensory brings the same passion, creative flair and craftsmanship to every customer experience, and I am proud to pass the torch to them.

Beyond the disciplines of branding and print design, which we share, Designsensory brings a wealth of success, experience, and talent in development and marketing for the web. I believe the largest upside for our clients will be in this fact—Designsensory can fully develop your brand both in print and online.

Here are some key highlights of Designsensory:

• Founded in 2001.
• A combined 40 years of experience in visual communication, branding, print publication and interactive & web design and development.

• Primary services include: brand and corporate identity development, print publication and packaging, web site  & interactive development, and online marketing.

• Key executives, Joseph Nother, Creative Director & Principal, and Brandon Rochelle, Technical Director & Principal, are hands-on managers and natives of the East Tennessee area.

• They maintain separate design and technology teams. This allows them to specialize and focus on delivering great design and technology within the most sophisticated project requirements, including e-commerce.
• Client list includes: Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corp, AC Entertainment, The Historic Tennessee Theatre, Agilent Technologies, Varsity Athletics, and MillerEnergy Corporation.

Effective February 23th, they will assume all of Media South's active projects and active project financials, in addition to our client base and our employees. I will be taking an active role for the next several months to ensure a sound and smooth transition and will be available for meetings as necessary. Additionally, Joseph and Brandon plan to meet with every Media South client and vendor and will be scheduling phone calls and meetings over the next few weeks.

It is important to remember in all this change that many elements of our work stay the same. All employees of Media South are making the transition to Designsensory. Lindsay Miller and Anne Brogdon will continue to work on all active projects. Vendor, freelance and production partner relationships will be maintained to ensure a consistent finished product. Your contract terms and deliverables will remain the same. Both companies also use the same online project management system interface, so your client login experience will be the same.

In closing, let me again thank each of you for your support and friendship through the years. Our experiences together have defined my professional career, and I will take those memories with me as I seek out new challenges in the future. It is a delight to leave you in the hands of our talented employees, as well as Joseph, Brandon, and Designsensory. I trust they will continue the Media South tradition, exceed your highest expectations, and deliver greater business value as your new design, web and marketing partner.

If you have any questions regarding this transition, please feel free to call Designsensory at (865) 690-2249.

Sincerely,

Barbara Penland

President, Media South
