Summertime in Tennessee 2008 Seasonal Website
Continuing the widely successful strategy of augmenting the main web site, tnvacation.com, with niche and seasonal mini-sites, Designsensory turned attention to the 2008 Summer mini-site redevelopment. We chose to match page stucture and styling with the redeveloped main site to create a style platform and make it easier for people to acclimate to the new look and feel.
As the main visual images, we used a wallpaper background of one of the state insects, the ladybug, and a rotation of summer-fun themed photos to capitalize on the variety of outdoor and family activities. To visually differentiate from the vintage feel of the Spring mini-site, we chose a cleaner, more contemporary feeling. The idea of "simple pleasures" informed the color palette with the colors of summer and the translucent quality of water. The idea of simplicity carried through to the features, which included gas-saver tips for travelers trying to stay closer to home.
