Client: Tennessee Department of Tourist Development

Tennessee Vacation Mobile Site

Designsensory launched the mobile-optimized version of the state’s official travel planning website. “We’re seeing trends of more tourists accessing information on their computer prior to vacation, then using smartphones during trips for real-time data access. People are also capturing experiences with smartphones through photos, tweets and Facebook updates in real time,” said Joseph Nother, Designsensory creative director.

Overall design aesthetics reflect the award-winning standard screen site, utilizing colors and content from it to give users a seamless transition with the state’s messaging. The state’s official vacation guide publication includes QR codes that, when photographed with a smartphone, take readers to specific landing pages on the website. Geographically targeted messages promoted on the site allow advertisers and attractions to engage tourists at the most optimal time and place. “Mobile-optimized sites are something we recommend and are implementing for many of our clients,” said Nother.

Designsensory tourism, entertainment and destination clients include: Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Middle East Tennessee Tourism Council, Knoxville Tourism & Sports Corporation, Jefferson County Tourism Department, City of Maryville, TN, City of Abingdon VA, Jersey City Convention & Visitors Bureau, Ober Gatlinburg and AC Entertainment.
